About This Artwork

"King Albert Ii And His Wife Elizabeth Of Luxembourg In Prayer On The Altar The Crowns Of Bohemia And Hungary As Well As The Imperial Crown Of The Holy Roman Empire", painted in 1820 by Karl Russ, represents the defining qualities of Neoclassicism, rendered with exceptional skill, with its dominant Brown tones creating subtle visual harmony. Karl Friedrich Otto Ruß was a Prussian pharmacist, aviculturist, author of bird-keeping books, and the founding editor of the world's first bird-fancier magazine Die Gefiederte Welt. Available as a fine-art print on premium materials, made to last generations.

About the Artist
Karl Friedrich Otto Ruß was a Prussian pharmacist, aviculturist, author of bird-keeping books, and the founding editor of the world's first bird-fancier magazine Die Gefiederte Welt. Along with Bruno Dürigen, he also founded the magazine Isis in 1876. He sometimes wrote under the pseudonym "Berthold Schwarz". He was among the few who managed to breed the now extinct Carolina parakeets in captivity.
