Jacob Hägg was a Swedish naval officer and marine artist. He entered the Naval Academy in 1858, and was commissioned as an officer in 1863. He sailed on several long journeys, including one circumnavigation of Earth. He entered the Fleet Staff in 1888, was appointed head of the Naval Academy in 1895 and promoted to rear admiral in 1899.
