David Roberts
Born into difficult economic circumstances, David Roberts began painting surfaces at the age of eight. By imitating wood and marble, David contributed to the Roberts family's household income. Roberts began an apprenticeship with a decoration painter, left his Scottish homeland and made a name for himself as a painter of stage decorations.
