About this artwork
Bjergegn i Tyrol is an etching, radering by Vilhelm Kyhn (1819–1903), dated 1854. The artist is catalogued as Danish. This reproduction is based on the copy in the SMK National Gallery of Denmark, and the file offered here measures 6000 × 5090 px (4.7 MB). Catalogued under Prints and Realism, in landscape format. Archive Lane holds 99 works by Vilhelm Kyhn, a Danish artist.
Peter Vilhelm Carl Kyhn was a Danish landscape painter who belonged to the generation of national romantic painters immediately after the Danish Golden Age and before the Modern Breakthrough. Even though he outlived many of his artistic peers by several decades, he remained a traditionalist and expressed strong criticism of many of the new trends in the painting of his day.
