About this artwork
Frontispize is a copper engraving print by Oliviero Gatti (1579–1648), dated 1615; 1651. The artist is catalogued as Italian. This reproduction is based on the copy in the The Albertina Museum, and the file offered here measures 3064 × 4248 px (1.0 MB). Catalogued under Prints and Renaissance, in portrait format. Archive Lane holds 39 works by Oliviero Gatti, an Italian artist.
Oliviero Gatti (1579–1648), an Italian painter and engraver, was a native of Parma. He was a scholar of Giovanni Lodovico Valesio, and, from the resemblance of his style, although greatly inferior, to that of Agostino Carracci, was probably instructed in engraving by that master.
