About this artwork
Pont Kadjiou Chiraz is a public-domain artwork by Eugène Flandin (1809–1889). The high-resolution file measures 1800 × 1349 px (1.4 MB). You will find it among Landscape and Romanticism, in landscape format. Archive Lane holds 49 works by Eugène Flandin.
Jean-Baptiste Eugène Napoléon Flandin, French orientalist, painter, archaeologist, and politician. Flandin's archeological drawings and some of his military paintings are valued more highly by museum authorities than his purely artistic paintings. He is most renowned for his famous drawings and paintings of Iranian monuments, landscapes, and social life made during his travels with the architect Pascal Coste between 1839 and 1841. Flandin's observations on Iran and international politics in the mid-19th century also continue to provide important documentary information.
