Cubism Wall Art
WALL ARTCubism was developed in Paris from about 1907 by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, working so closely that their canvases of those years are hard to tell apart. They broke the object into facets and showed several viewpoints at once on a deliberately shallow picture plane, abandoning the single fixed viewpoint that had governed European painting since the Renaissance. The early analytic phase reduced colour almost to monochrome; the later synthetic phase brought back pattern, lettering and pasted paper, inventing collage. Almost every later abstract movement begins from this break.
